Place of Birth. Education.

Born in Saporoshje. In 1978, he graduated from the A. Mozhaiski Military Technical Academy (Leningrad). In 1993, he graduated from the F. Dzerzhinsky Military Academy (Moscow).

Career.

1978-1993 - Service in engineering and command positions at the spaceports of Baikonur (Kazakhstan) and Plessezk (Arkhangelsk, Russia).

1993-1995 - Service in the supply staff of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

1995-1996 - Head of the group of the Center for Strategic Nuclear Forces Management of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

1996-2000 - Employee of the Department for Defense and Mobilization Issues and Law Enforcement Agencies of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

2000-2001 - State expert of the Department of Foreign Policy Aspects of National Security of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

2001-2003 - Head of the Department of the State Commission for Defense Industry Complex Issues of Ukraine.

2003-2005 - Head of the Department for Defense Industry Policy Issues of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

In 2005 - Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Policy of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

2005-2007 - Deputy Head of the Main Department for Security and Defense Policy - Head of the Defense Construction Department of the Presidential Secretariat of Ukraine.

From October 2007 to June 2009 - Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine (under Yuriy Yekhanurov).

From June 2009 - First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

From June 2009 to March 2010 - Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine (after the resignation of Yekhanurov).

Criminal Case. In August 2010, he was arrested for aiding the illegal privatization of property of the Ministry of Defense (violation of official duties in the conclusion of the recovery plan of the state shipyard Feodosia Shipbuilding).

On April 12, 2012, the Pechersk District Court in Kyiv sentenced Ivaschenko to five years of imprisonment with the deprivation of the right to hold public office for three years. On August 14, 2012, Ivaschenko was released by order of the capital's appellate court with a probation period of one year. In January 2013, he was granted political asylum in Denmark.

Awards.

Reserve Colonel. Awarded the medal 'For Courageous Merit', the Order of Danilo Galitsky (2006), and the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the III class (2010).

Marital Status.

Married. He has a son and a daughter.
