Miron Bogdanovich Markevich - Ukrainian football player, midfielder, coach. Honored Coach of the USSR (1977), head of the National Teams Committee of the FFU/UAF (2016-2021). Record holder of the Ukrainian top league regarding the number of games as head coach.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Vynnyky (Lviv region). Graduated from the Lviv Institute of Physical Culture and the Higher Training Institute in Moscow in 1983. Fluent in English and Polish.

Career as a football player. Trained in Lviv football. First coach - Bohdan Markevich. Playing position - midfielder. Played for the teams: 'Karpaty' (Lviv, reserve team) - 1970-1972, SKA (Lviv) - 1973, 'Spartak' (Ordzhonikidze) - 1974, 'Torpedo' (Luzk) - 1976-1977.

Coaching career. Coached teams: 'Torpedo' (Luzk) - 1984), 'Karpaty' (Lviv) - 1992-1993, 1994-1995, 1996-1997, 1998-1999, 2001-2002, 2003-2004, 'Wolin' (Luzk) - 1991-1992, 'Podillja' (Khmelnytskyi) - 1995-1996, 'Kriwbas' (Kryvyi Rih) - 1990, 1995-1996, 'Metallurg' (Zaporizhzhia) - 1998-1999, 2001-2002, 'Anji' (Makhachkala, Russia) - 2002. With the club 'Karpaty', he won the bronze medal at the Ukrainian championship. Finalist of the Ukrainian Cup in 1993 and 1999.

Since 2005 - head coach of 'Metalist' in Kharkiv. Under Markevich's leadership, 'Metalist' won the bronze medal in Ukraine five times in a row - 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011.

On February 1, 2010, the executive committee of the Ukrainian football association appointed Markevich as head coach of the Ukrainian national team, while he remained the coach of 'Metalist'. The contract with the Ukrainian national team lasted until the end of the European Championship 2012. However, in August of the same year, Markevich resigned due to a decision by the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian football association regarding the deduction of nine points from 'Metalist' in the Premier League standings.

From May 2014 to June 2016 - head coach of 'Dnipro' in Dnipropetrovsk.

From July 2016 to August 2021 - head of the National Teams Committee of the Ukrainian football association.

In June 2023, Miron Markevich again took charge of 'Karpaty' in Lviv.

Awards, Honors. Honored Coach of Ukraine. Record holder for the number of games in the top league of the Ukrainian championships as head coach - 460 games (as of April 30, 2010).

Family. Married. Two sons.

Hobbies. Fishing, music, reading books, traveling, and visiting museums.
