Ruslan Georgievich Ryaboshapka - Jurist, Attorney General of Ukraine (2019-2020), Deputy Head of the Presidential Office of Volodymyr Zelenskyy (21.05.2019-29.08.2019), member of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (2016-2017), Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine (March-October 2014).
Place of Birth and Education. Born in Zelenogorsk village, Lyubashevsky district, Odessa region. In 1998, he graduated from the International Solomon University, earning a degree in law.
Career. From 1998 to 2001, Ruslan Ryaboshapka worked as Chief Advisor to the Deputy Head of the Department for Legislation on Justice, Law, and Defense, Deputy Director of the Department for Legislation on Justice, Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, as well as Administrative Responsibility of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Department in the Civil Service of Ukraine for the Execution of Penalties.
From 2001-2002 - Deputy Director of the Department for Legislation on Justice, Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, as well as Administrative Responsibility of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
From 2002-2003 - Director of the Center for Legal Reform and Legislative Work of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
From December 2003 to June 2010, Ruslan Ryaboshapka headed the Department for Legislation on Justice, Law Enforcement, and Anti-Corruption Policy of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. Chairman of the Ukrainian delegation at the plenary sessions of the Council of Europe Working Group on Corruption (GRECO).
On June 21, 2010, Ruslan Ryaboshapka was appointed Director of the newly established Office for Anti-Corruption Policy in the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
In February 2011, the Cabinet of Ministers liquidated the Office of Government Representative and the Office for Anti-Corruption Policy.
From February 2011 to October 2013 - Deputy Director of the Department for Legal Support in the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. From October 2013 to March 2014 - Head of the Department for Anti-Corruption Policy Analysis in the NGO Transparency International Ukraine. From March 19, 2014 - Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine.
In March 2016, he was elected as a member of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention and dealt with issues of anti-corruption policy and prevention of conflicts of interest.
On June 9, 2017, Ruslan Ryaboshapka submitted his resignation as a member of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention.
In 2019, during the presidential election campaign in Ukraine, he was appointed advisor on law enforcement and anti-corruption policy to presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky.
On May 21, 2019, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Ruslan Ryaboshapka as Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.
On June 25, 2019, the President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed him as Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.
On June 25, 2019, he was appointed Head of the National Anti-Corruption Policy Council.
On August 29, 2019, the Verkhovna Rada supported the appointment of Ruslan Ryaboshapka as Attorney General of Ukraine.
On March 5, 2020, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada expressed lack of confidence in Attorney General Ruslan Ryaboshapka. This dismissed him from office.
In November 2020, Ruslan Ryaboshapka, Oleksandr Danyliuk, and Pavlo Klimkin together founded the Center for National Resilience and Development.
Awards. Honored Lawyer of Ukraine (2010). Awarded with a commendation from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
