Oksana Sokolova - journalist and television presenter
Date of Birth: 05.13.1971
Place of Birth. Education. Oksana Sokolova was born in Cherkasy. She graduated from the Journalism Department of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Career. After graduating from university, Oksana Sokolova went through several stages of a journalistic career. She started as an editor at the Cherkasy regional television, and eventually became the presenter of one of the leading news programs on a Ukrainian television channel.
In 2000, Oksana joined the ICTV team. She started working as a reporter and parliamentary correspondent. By the end of 2001, she became a presenter and started working on a morning news program that opened a new stage in the channel's development.
In 2004, Oksana left ICTV and became the press secretary of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Hennadiy Vasylev. However, after a year, following the resignation of the Prosecutor General, she returned to television. She admitted that she felt like a 'foreign body' in the Prosecutor's Office as journalism and prosecution are two complicated interconnected concepts. She also called Hennadiy Vasylev the best boss one could imagine and expressed regret that she could not continue working with him.
At the same time, Oksana worked as a presenter of the evening news on ICTV and as the editor-in-chief of the program 'Word of Freedom' with Savik Shuster.
In early 2006, she was asked by the channel's management to create her own news program. On February 12, 2006, the premiere of the program 'Facts on Sunday with Oksana Sokolova' took place. She hosted this program until 2016 on the ICTV channel.
From 2017 to 2019, she was the presenter of the program '100 Minutes with Oksana Sokolova' on the ICTV channel.
Since January 2020, she has been the presenter of the program 'Facts on Sunday. 100 Minutes' on the ICTV channel.
Producer. Oksana Sokolova has produced over ten successful projects. She was a producer of the controversial investigative project 'Maximum in Ukraine' from 2007 to 2013.
From 2009 to 2014, she was the producer of the project 'Hacerzemne Life.'
From 2013 to 2014, she was the producer of the project 'The Fourth Tower.'
Since 2019 to the present, she has been the producer of the project 'Conspiracy Theory.'
About herself. Oksana Sokolova believes that the greatest project of her life is still ahead of her.
She loves jazz, 'intellectual' books, and the culinary masterpieces of her son.
Her professional mentors are Leonid Parfienov and his projects 'Portraits Against the Background' and 'Namidni.'

Awards. Oksana Sokolova won a television triumph in 2002 in the category 'Presenter of the Information Program.' She also received awards in the categories 'Facts on Sunday - best analytical program of the year' in 2007, 2009, and 2011, as well as 'Best presenter of informational-analytical programs' in 2011.
Honors. In March 2007, Oksana Sokolova was awarded the title 'Honored Journalist of Ukraine.'
Family. She is married. Her husband Andriy Demartynov is a political scientist and historian, and their son is named Vysevolod.
