Grigorij Michajłowicz Surkis - Ukrainian businessman, politician, football activist. Vice President of UEFA (2013-2019). President of the Football Federation of Ukraine until September 2012. Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the III and IV convocations (1998-2006) from the SDPU (o) faction. Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation (since 2019) from the OPZZ party.
Place of birth, education. Born in Odessa. In 1972 he graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Technology of Food Industry with a specialization in 'Machines and Devices of Food Industry' (qualification - engineer-mechanic).
Career. 1972-1974 - senior engineer of the supply office of the Main Fruit and Vegetable Prom of the Ukrainian SSR.

1998-2006 - twice a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (III and IV convocations), member of the SDPU (o) faction. For a long time Surkis was a member of the party authorities, a long-time business and political partner of the former leader of SDPU(o) Viktor Medvedchuk.
In 2006 he unsuccessfully ran for a parliamentary mandate from the list of the Opposition Bloc NOT LIKE THIS! (number 6).
In 2007, Surkis was re-elected as president of the FFU for a third term (until 2012). In 2012 he was succeeded in this position by Anatoliy Konkov.
Thanks to Surkis’ efforts, in 2007 UEFA made the decision to organize the 2012 UEFA European Championship in Ukraine and Poland.
On May 24, 2013, Grigorij Surkis was appointed vice president of UEFA.
On April 5, 2017, the 41st UEFA Congress in Helsinki re-elected Grigorij Surkis as vice president of UEFA.
Since 2019 - honorary member of UEFA.
In the parliamentary elections of 2019, he was elected as a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation from the list of the party Opposition Platform – For Life, number 17 on the list.
Since April 21, 2022, he has been a member of the parliamentary group Platform for Life and Peace (PŽiP) in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation, established from former members of the OPZZ.

Wealth status. In February 2008, Focus magazine estimated the total wealth of the Surkis brothers at $915 million, placing them in 26th place on the list of the richest Ukrainians. At the same time, the editorial office noted that these figures of domestic football, in addition to FC 'Dynamo', own the Ukrainian industrial-financial concern Swatycz, the TET radio and television company, SA Kyiv-Kod, investment funds Dzherelo, Dobrobuth, and Nadezhda, control the insurance company Alkona and others.
In June 2008, Korespondent's editorial placed Igor Surkis with a fortune of $309 million in 49th place in its top-50 richest Ukrainians. The older brother did not manage to find a place in this ranking.
He and his brother Igor Surkis made it to the 'Golden Hundred' list (47th place), published in Korespondent magazine on June 9, 2011. The capital was estimated at $263 million.
