Alexander Sych

Date of Birth: 16.07.1964
Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Dert in the Rokitno district of the Rovno region. In 1986, he graduated from the historical faculty of Ivan Franko Pedagogical Institute and received a degree as a teacher of history and social sciences, educator, and methodologist. In 1999, he graduated from the law faculty of Prykarpatien University and obtained the qualification of a lawyer.
Career. From August 1986 to November 1987, he was the organizer of extracurricular and out-of-school youth education and a teacher of history and social sciences at Kamenskaya Secondary School in the Rokitno district of the Rovno region.
From 1987 to 1989 - military service. From May 1989 to April 1993, he was the head of the film library of the city educational district of Yaremche, simultaneously a history teacher at Mikulichinskaya Secondary School and Yaremche High School No. 1, chairman of the council of trade union chairmen of educational institutions in the city of Yaremche.
Since 1991, he has been a member of the National Scout Organization of Ukraine 'Plast'. In 2003-2005, he served as chairman.
From April 1993 to September 1994, Alexander Sych was a youth instructor at the Yaremche City Council.
From September 1994 to December 1995, Alexander Sych was the head of the Department of General Secondary Education, deputy head of the education department of the Humanities Department of the Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk region.
From 1994 to 1998, he was a deputy of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional council.
From December 1995 to June 1996, he was the deputy head, head of the Department of General Secondary Education of the Education Department of the Ivano-Frankivsk Executive Committee.
From June 1996 to June 1998, he was an assistant and advisor to Ukrainian MP Roman Krutsik.
From June 1998 to September 2000, Alexander Sych was a legal advisor to Lileya-NV Publishing House (Ivano-Frankivsk).
From 2000 to 2001, he was an assistant at the Department of Philosophy at Ivano-Frankivsk State Technical University of Oil and Gas. From August 2001, he was a lecturer at the Department of Public Administration at Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.
From May 2002 to September 2005, Alexander Sych was the deputy mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk for the activities of executive bodies.
Since 2006, he has been a member of the All-Ukrainian Union 'Svoboda'. He is a member of the Politburo of the All-Ukrainian Union 'Svoboda', deputy chairman of the party for ideological issues.
In the 2007 parliamentary elections in Ukraine, he was a candidate for the Ukrainian Parliament from the All-Ukrainian Union 'Svoboda'. He took fifth place on the list.
On November 25, 2010, Alexander Sych was elected chairman of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional council, receiving 68 out of 114 votes from regional council deputies.
In the 2012 parliamentary elections, he was elected as a deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VII Congress of the All-Ukrainian Union 'Svoboda' in single-mandate constituency No. 83. According to the election results, he won with 55.81% of the votes. In Parliament, he was the first deputy chairman of the Committee on Science and Education.
From February 27 to December 2, 2014, he was the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine in the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
Income. In 2011, he declared 251,633 hryvnias.
Awards. In 2009, he was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences by the Dissertation Council of the National Pedagogical University named after M. Dragomanov. In 2010, the Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine awarded him the title of Associate Professor at the Department of Public Administration. He is the author of essays and research papers on the topics of Ukraine's heroic past, nationalism, and contemporary politics. He is a researcher of the life and work of Stepan Lenkavsky.
Family. Alexander Sych was born into a large family. His father Maxym Adamovych (1925-1993) was a mechanic. His mother Eva Adamovna (1925) is a retiree. His wife Halyna Viktorivna (1965) is a history teacher, educator of early childhood education, head of the methodology room at the Teacher Training Center of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Two children: daughter Olviia (1987), son Bohdan (1990), grandson Mark.
