Biography of Mykhailo Vitaliyovych Zabrodsky

Date of Birth: 24.01.1973

Mykhailo Vitaliyovych Zabrodsky - people's deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation from the European Solidarity party. Commander of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2015-2017), commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2017-2019). Hero of Ukraine (2014), lieutenant general (2016).

Place of Birth. Education. He was born in Dnipro in a military family. He graduated from the Military Engineering and Space Academy named after A.F. Mozhaysky (St. Petersburg). He also graduated from the United States Army Command and General Staff College in the USA. He is fluent in English.

Career. After graduating from the Military Engineering and Space Academy, he served five years in Russia as part of a contract. Upon returning to Ukraine, he began his service in the 95th Airborne Brigade.

In 2009, Michał Zabrodski, holding the rank of lieutenant colonel, became the chief of staff and first deputy commander of the 95th Airborne Brigade.

In the autumn of 2009, he became the commander of the Ukrainian contingent in the Ukrainian-Polish peacekeeping battalion (UkrPolbat) in Kosovo, which was mainly composed of soldiers from the 95th Airborne Brigade of the 8th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of Ukraine.

In January 2013, Michał Zabrodski became the commander of the 95th Airborne Brigade (Zhytomyr city).

During the ATO operations, the 95th Airborne Brigade under Zabrodsky's command performed tasks to block the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, captured and held a stronghold - Mount Karachun.

In the summer of 2014, the 95th Brigade under his command conducted a raid into the enemy's rear. Over the course of two weeks, performing combat tasks, Zabrodsky's brigade traveled 470 km from Sloviansk to Mariupol, then along the Russian-Ukrainian border and through Luhansk returned to Sloviansk.

From March 2015 to August 2019 - commander of the Airborne Forces of Ukraine.

On June 3-4, 2015, Michał Zabrodski commanded Ukrainian forces during the battles for Marinka.

From November 2017 to March 2018, Michał Zabrodski was the commander of the ATO forces.

Political Career. He participated in the early parliamentary elections in 2019 from the list of the European Solidarity party, taking 4th place on the party list. Since August 2019 - a people's deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation.

On March 17, 2023, Michał Zabrodski submitted a resignation statement from the deputy mandate to work in the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On March 20, 2023, the deputies voted on the premature termination of his mandate as a deputy of Ukraine.
