Russian athletes will not be allowed to the 2026 Olympics: FIS decision

According to inkorr.com: Oleg Taktarov, a Russian fighter and actor, shared his thoughts on life in Russia and the USA. He noted that prices are much higher in the United States than in Russia and believes that life in Russia looks more attractive than in America.

“In America, any product or service is four times, or maybe even ten times more expensive than here. And there, you can get killed, raped, and still be blamed. Russia is exponentially more attractive than America in terms of life. If everyone spoke Russian, especially those who understand life, and that’s around 40 years old, about 99 percent of Americans would move here. Men definitely. As for women, it’s better for them to go there because of all those lustful men. Why go to America at all? So many of our people have moved there, but I haven’t seen happy families,” Taktarov noted.

FIS decision regarding athletes at the 2026 Olympics

The Council of the International Ski Federation (FIS) has made a decision to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the qualification competitions for the 2026 Olympics in an individual neutral status (AIN).

“The FIS Council voted to exclude athletes in individual neutral status (AIN) from the qualification competitions for the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Milan. The AIN status was developed by the International Olympic Committee as a possible way for athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the qualification competitions for the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Each international federation retains the right to independently decide whether to allow these athletes to qualify or not,” FIS press service reported.

Thus, Taktarov expressed his opinion on comparing life in Russia and the USA, as well as on the rules for athlete participation in the 2026 Olympic Games.

These comments from Taktarov reflect his personal perception of life in different countries. At the same time, the FIS decision highlights the continuation of existing restrictions for Russian and Belarusian athletes in world sports, caused by political circumstances. How this will affect the future of athletes remains to be seen.
