The potential of Philippine dart players

Bray, a 68-year-old former referee, believes that the Philippines has the best players outside of Europe. He thinks the country deserves to host a leg of the World Series of Darts due to its impressive talents. He noted that new stars could emerge very soon, as:

“They have achieved great success in a short time. I mean, it’s been nearly 20 years now, and when I compare the present to what it was when I first started, it’s a huge progression.”

“Every kid there - especially in the soft tip world - is showing great results. The main heroes are still young; Lawrence Ilagan is one of those who has experience.”

“But there are also young talents like Paolo Nebrida and Alexis Toylo who are already emerging.”

Bray plans to visit the Philippines before the start of the Darts Premier League in Australia.

Safety at competitions

In addition, Russ Bray called for improved safety at darts tournaments to avoid whistling during games. He believes that:

“If venues conducted proper safety briefings, and put up signs saying 'if you whistle, you will be ejected', that would help.”
