Road to the Esports Nations Cup 2026

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's national esports team is gearing up to compete in the Esports Nations Cup 2026, scheduled for November 2026 in Riyadh. The Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF) has revamped the national championship, secured official partnership status for the event, and begun assembling national rosters across nine game titles.

The restructured UESF leadership took office on June 12, 2025. As part of new initiatives, the prize pool for the Ukrainian Championship in Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 has been set at 1 million UAH. Over a thousand players and roughly 200 teams participated in the tournament. Notably, Ukrainian competitions have earned VRS status from Valve, underscoring their growing international significance.

Ukrainian Teams' Achievements

Ukraine's Dota 2 squad has secured a direct spot in the Esports Nations Cup finals without needing to go through qualifiers, reflecting the team's rising prestige. The national team currently holds 12th place in the global rankings. NAVI players reached the finals of the international BLAST Slam VI tournament in early 2026, further highlighting the high caliber of Ukrainian esports.

'Over the past year, we've worked to ensure Ukraine is represented on the international esports stage not just by individual teams but as a full-fledged national squad. Now we have the chance to showcase the strength of Ukrainian esports to the world,' said Maksym Krippa.

Additionally, more than 600 veterans took part in the 'Veterans Games,' demonstrating the growing appeal of esports across different age groups. 'It was a tough but productive year. A year of discoveries, changes, and improvements,' commented Andriy Hryshchenko.

Ukraine is thus actively preparing for the Esports Nations Cup 2026, focusing on developing the esports ecosystem and nurturing new talent.

Ukraine's preparations for the Esports Nations Cup 2026 highlight the country's expanding role on the global esports stage. The restructuring of the Esports Federation and the engagement of young talents lay the groundwork for further growth in this field within Ukraine. The emphasis on supporting veterans and promoting esports among diverse age groups also underscores the broad social impact of this discipline in the country.
