He shared that he first heard about his status in the summer when he suddenly lost the ability to walk.

Mannie celebrated his professional day in the hospital on Saturday and shared his difficult journey.

“I am happy. Blessed. I want to share some things with you. Life has been trying to take me lately,” he said.
“From accidents, illnesses, and then, when I learned that I have AIDS and HIV.”

In his video, he noted that he contracted the virus from a former partner, but emphasized that he does not see himself as a 'victim'.

“Yes, my ex gave me this, and I did not know, he hid a lot of things, but I am not a victim, because I had symptoms,” he added.

He assured viewers that he is 'happy to be alive' and 'feels much better' after starting treatment.

However, he reported that his monthly expenses for necessary medications reach $4,000.

For this, he created a page on GoFundMe, where he has already raised over $8,400 out of a planned $12,000.

“I plan to donate part of the funds to charity that supports people with HIV and those who cannot afford it,” he stated.
“I have great support, and I will survive. I am doing this fundraiser to help others because it is right!”

In an Instagram video, Mannie mentioned that although he has difficulties with walking, he can now stand. With tears in his eyes, he thanked his supporters for their support.

“I don’t know what to say, all I know is that I will have a better future because of this,” he added.

In another video, he showed how he uses a walker, with the support of a nurse who noted that his legs are still weak and his balance is unstable.

The nurse assured him that he will need to use the walker for some time as he has difficulty supporting his body or moving around the room.

Thousands of fans have expressed their support and love on his social media.

Earlier this year, Mannie revealed that he was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and advised fans to 'make their health a priority'.

What is HIV?

HIV is a virus that damages cells in the immune system and reduces your ability to fight everyday infections and diseases.

In the UK, approximately 106,890 people live with this condition.

In most cases, it is transmitted through unprotected sexual contact with an infected person.

Most people experience flu-like symptoms two to three weeks after infection.

This usually includes sore throat, fever, and rash all over the body, lasting from one to two weeks.

After that, HIV may not cause any symptoms, but the virus continues to damage your immune system.

Some people later experience weight loss, night sweats, oral thrush, increased outbreaks of herpes or cold sores, swollen lymph nodes in the groin, neck, or armpits, prolonged diarrhea, and fatigue.

Although there is no cure for HIV, there are very effective treatment methods that allow most people with the virus to live long and healthy lives.

Medications now reduce the amount of virus in the body to such an extent that it becomes undetectable, meaning it cannot be transmitted.
