Rumors are now circulating about a possible contract signing with 'Rovers', as he has returned to training.
Lockyer gained popularity in northern Bristol over seven years from 2012 to 2019, helping the team ascend the ladder of English football.
Now, after serious health issues that nearly cost him his life, he is determined to get back on the field.
According to BristolLive, Lockyer is currently training under Darrell Clarke.
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but the chances of signing a contract with the League Two club are quite high.
