Sale of a stake in Mercedes in Formula 1
According to The Sun: The head of Formula 1, Toto Wolff, sold a small stake in the Mercedes team as part of a deal worth hundreds of millions. CrowdStrike founder George Kurtz acquired a 15% stake belonging to the main owner, Wolff. Both parties announced this on Thursday.
“This is a new phase for our team in Formula 1,” said Toto Wolff.
The financial details of the deal remain a mystery. This sale may indicate further changes in the team's strategy, which may be aiming to attract new investments to improve its performance on Formula 1 tracks. Owning a stake in Mercedes may now open new opportunities for George Kurtz and his company.
