Tomorrow in Washington, there will be a meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, after which European leaders will join them. The meeting will include German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
It is worth noting that earlier the conditions for ending the conflict in eastern Ukraine were announced, which were expressed by Vladimir Putin, as well as the support of the Russian leader's position by Trump regarding the desire to annex Donbas. U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff also noted that Russia has abandoned full occupation of Ukraine but has other demands.
Summary
A meeting is planned between Trump, Zelensky, and European leaders in Washington, where attempts to end the conflict in eastern Ukraine and support for the Russian leader will be discussed. Different parties have different conditions and positions, which may complicate the resolution of the situation in the region.
