The coach of the Ukrainian national basketball team has resigned from his position at the Romanian club.
Ainars Bagatskis has finished his cooperation with the Romanian team 'Voluntari', where he led the coaching staff for the last three seasons. Under his leadership, 'Voluntari' won the North European Basketball League (ENBL) this year.
According to the website basket.com.ua, Bagatskis is the main candidate for the position of head coach of the Polish club 'Slask' next season. During the winter period this year, he led the Ukrainian national team for the second time and worked with them until March 2023. Under his leadership, the Ukrainian team defeated Portugal in the qualifying round for EuroBasket 2025, but lost to Slovenia.
Ainars Bagatskis has completed his work with the Romanian club 'Voluntari' and may take over the Polish team 'Slask'. In the winter period, he worked with the Ukrainian national team, achieving certain successes by helping the team win one of the qualifying matches for EuroBasket 2025.
