Trident – It's Love. The Most Original Versions of the Coat of Arms from Ukrainians on Independence Day (photos, videos).
Trident as a Symbol of Ukrainians
The trident is not only the national coat of arms of Ukraine, but also a symbol that Ukrainians respect and embody in various forms. There are even records related to this symbol. "Glavkom" has gathered the most interesting and original interpretations of the trident.
In ancient times, the trident served as a guardian and was the clan mark of the Rurikids. It was found on coins, seals, tableware, tombstones, and more. On ancient Rus' banners, it was the main element, gaining particular popularity during the reign of Volodymyr Sviatoslavych.
The Ukrainian Institute of National Memory notes that after the decline of the Rurikid dynasty, the image of the Trident was gradually replaced and substituted by territorial signs.
Interpretations of the Trident
Today, Ukrainians continue to create interpretations of the trident using various forms and materials. For example, Ukrainian military made the largest trident from bullet casings, which entered the Guinness World Records. A giant trident was also created in the Kherson region, which could even be seen from space. Ukrainian farmers also created a trident in a mustard field, which also entered the Ukrainian Record Book.
Today, on Independence Day, the MK Foundation placed 50 cars in the shape of a trident to be handed over to the military. This initiative has become the creation of a symbol of great significance for Ukrainians.
