China could use Russia to attack Europe over Taiwan - NATO Secretary General reported
NATO chief Mark Rutte explained that in the event of an attack on Taiwan, China might attempt to divert attention from the Asia-Pacific region by attacking Europe in conjunction with Russia. He also emphasized that the defense of NATO territory is important not only for Europe but also for American interests in Asia.
«If Xi Jinping were to attack Taiwan, he would first call his partner in all this, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who is in Moscow, and say to him: «Hey, I'm about to do this, and I need you to keep them busy in Europe by attacking NATO territory»», - Rutte explained.
Currently, NATO is preparing for a possible attack from China and Russia, collaborating with the Indo-Pacific region and preparing for a possible reduction of American troops in Europe.
A NATO representative highlighted two important aspects: the potential threat to the alliance from China and Russia over Taiwan, as well as the importance of protecting NATO territory not only for Europe but also for American interests in Asia.Read also
