Turkey shot down a drone over the Black Sea: details of the incident.
According to ТСН: Turkey has reported the downing of a drone over the Black Sea. This information was published by Turkish media, citing the country's Ministry of Defense.
Turkish military detected an aerial target approaching their airspace. To respond to the situation, F-16 fighter jets, which are under the control of NATO and Turkey, were deployed.
"It was determined that the unmanned aerial vehicle was out of control; to avoid any negative consequences, it was shot down in a safe area away from populated areas," stated the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
Interestingly, the Turkish Ministry of Defense does not specify to whom this drone belonged, and does not mention any possible involvement of Russia.
Earlier, it was also reported that NATO was preparing for the possibility of shooting down Russian planes.
This event highlights the tension in the region and Turkey's readiness to defend its airspace. In the context of current international relations, it is important to monitor how events around military operations in the Black Sea and the response of other countries will develop. The downing of the drone is further evidence of the activity of military structures in this strategic region.
