Biden's advisor outlines what the Ukrainian peace plan should be.
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated that a peace plan should not be imposed on Ukraine from the outside.
As reported by "Hvylya", Politico writes about this.
According to Sullivan, the Ukrainian government should take the lead in ending the war in Ukraine. He also noted that any peace initiative that contradicts sovereignty and territorial integrity will not be fair and sustainable.
"I believe that any peace plan aimed at essentially imposing peace on the people of Ukraine that contradicts the basic principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, democracy, and freedom is not fair and sustainable," said the US presidential advisor.
At the same Time, Politico recalled that since Russian dictator Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale aggression in 2022, various initiatives have been proposed to end the war in Ukraine. Among them, self-proclaimed "peacemaking missions" by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban or the proposal by China and Brazil to cease fire and freeze the frontline.
It is worth noting that last week, Republican vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance suggested what might constitute a peace plan from US presidential candidate Donald Trump. He mentioned that it could involve creating a "demilitarized zone" in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories, while at the same time, Ukraine would have to give up joining NATO.
Politico highlighted that only the peace formula proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky includes the return of all Ukrainian territories captured by Russia.
Recall that Sullivan revealed the reasons for the delays in US military aid to Ukraine.
