The White House announced what Biden and Zelensky will discuss.
U.S. President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will discuss the state of the war and the latest events on the battlefield during their meeting on Thursday, as well as the U.S.'s resolute support for Ukraine and its defense against Russian aggression.
This was told to journalists by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the way to New York, where President Biden spoke at the UN General Assembly.
"The President and Vice President have made it clear that their commitment to supporting Ukraine until it wins the war is unwavering," said Jean-Pierre.
"We support Ukraine's pursuit of a just, durable, and comprehensive peace in this war. And the President intends to provide the Ukrainian military with the equipment needed to strengthen their positions," said the White House Press Secretary.
She added that over the past two months, the U.S. has focused on helping Ukraine strengthen its air defense and protect its energy grid from Russian attacks.
She also said that now President Biden expects to hear from President Zelensky about strategic planning for the coming months.
In his speech at the UN General Assembly, U.S. President Joe Biden stated that the United States would support Ukraine until Ukraine achieves victory and lasting peace based on the principles of the UN Charter.
