The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with his military advisers and the Minister of Defense to discuss preparations for new negotiations in the European Union. Among the main issues was the announcement of plans to expand drone production and strengthen resistance to potential Russian attacks.
'There will be more of our own production,' Zelensky stated, emphasizing the importance of drones for long-range strikes. The President particularly highlighted the need for interceptor development to counter Russian drones that threaten Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, all issues regarding production and national arms agreements were considered. In addition, discussions with partners about new investments in Ukrainian military technologies are planned during upcoming negotiations.
Strengthening sanctions against Russia
Zelensky emphasized the continuation of cooperation with international allies to impose new sanctions against Russia. 'For half a year, Putin has violated all diplomatic rules, and we can no longer look at this inactivity,' the president stressed.
Preparations for new sanctions involving the USA, Europe, and other 'G7' countries are ongoing, as well as the application of Ukrainian sanctions based on the decisions of other countries through the National Security and Defense Council.
