A new giant neighborhood is planned to be created in Kyiv
A giant neighborhood, or a 'city within a city', may appear in Kyiv on the site of the Kyiv poultry factory. An unknown developer has already ordered project documentation for a new residential complex covering more than 99 hectares, which is leased by the poultry factory. About 50 thousand residents are expected to be settled, which is half the population of the neighboring Brovary. The developer has already ordered the design project and drawings for the new residential complex, but their identity remains unknown.
According to the information we received during the presentation of traffic modeling of Brovary Avenue, ordered by an unknown private company, plans for the creation of a new giant neighborhood in Kyiv became known. The General Plan Institute was engaged in this modeling. However, such a construction project has sparked outrage among city activists, as it does not comply with the current General Plan. The head of the Urban Planning Council of Kyiv, Vitaliy Sylyk, noted that developers might change land use designations through technological loopholes. He also emphasized that in such cases a 'city within a city' may become a reality, as there are no vacant plots for development in the capital and its suburbs.
