Major repair of the memorial sign "Zero Kilometer"

According to ТСН: In Kyiv, the city council has decided to carry out major repairs on the "Zero Kilometer" monument located at Independence Square. The main change will be the removal of the names of Russian cities from the monument, which will be replaced with the names of Ukrainian cities.

According to the information provided by the Kyiv City Council, the object is in a significant state of wear and requires repair work. In addition to restoration, the capital authorities plan to adapt the monument to modern conditions.

"Given the significant degree of wear, carry out major repairs with the removal of the names of Russian cities and bring the object into line with the current names of Ukrainian cities," states the city council's decision.

It should be noted that in Kyiv, there are also plans to dismantle a number of monuments and elements associated with Soviet and Russian history.

Earlier, it was reported that in Odesa, activists hung a noose on the Pushkin monument.

The repair of the "Zero Kilometer" monument is part of a larger wave of decommunization and rethinking history in Ukraine. This process reflects a change in public sentiment and an effort to integrate Ukrainian history into a modern context. It is important that these changes reflect the values and identity of the Ukrainian people.
