Separate Gas Delivery Bill Coming for Ukrainians in July: What You Need to Know.
Changes to Gas Distribution Tariffs in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Starting in July 2026, Ukrainian households will begin receiving a separate, mandatory monthly invoice for gas delivery from their regional gas distribution network operator. This change follows tariff regulation updates approved by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities. While residential gas delivery tariffs remain fixed, non-household consumers saw adjustments in 2026.
Gas Distribution Pricing
Under Resolution No. 2163, the cost of gas distribution for non-household customers rose to 1.69 UAH per cubic meter from January 1 through March 31, then increased to 1.99 UAH per cubic meter starting April 1. However, gas delivery tariffs for ordinary consumers stay fixed per region, preventing price variation for the public.
In July, base annual prices from gas suppliers will range from 7.96 to 9.99 UAH per cubic meter. For instance, Naftogaz charges 7.96 UAH per cubic meter. Consumers must submit meter readings by the 5th of each month and pay bills no later than the 25th.
Citizens may be exempt from paying gas delivery fees if their home is destroyed by shelling, if an emergency arises due to combat operations, or if the property is physically disconnected from the gas system. Payment options for gas delivery include:
- online via the 'Gazmerezhi' portal
- through online banking
- at a Ukrposhta branch
- at a bank branch
- and via self-service terminals
These tariff changes are a key element of Ukraine's energy policy, impacting the financial obligations of both households and businesses in the near future. Introducing a separate gas delivery bill could enhance transparency in financial dealings between consumers and suppliers, but it may also raise public concerns about rising utility costs. These developments occur amid ongoing instability in Ukraine's energy sector, likely requiring continued monitoring and future adjustments to tariff policies.
