In Paris, police arrested more than 500 people after PSG's victory in the Champions League.

More than 500 people were detained in Paris after PSG's victory in the Champions League. Police Prefect Laurent Nunes reported that unrest in the city led to arrests, which he believed helped avoid significantly greater damage. 79 people were arrested on Sunday and 491 on Sunday night, an unprecedented number of detentions in such a short Time.
“Unfortunately, some damage was caused, but it would have been much greater had it not been for the police who arrested people. There were 79 arrests on Sunday, 491 on Sunday night; this is absolutely unprecedented,” Nunes said.
The Prefect emphasized that the actions of the police helped prevent many incidents and acts of vandalism. On Saturday evening, 5400 police officers were deployed in the city, which helped avoid more serious disturbances of public order.
“5400 police officers on Saturday evening were certainly enough. We prevented numerous incidents and acts of vandalism. What some called chaos and a bad picture was the work of the police who arrested the troublemakers,” Nunes emphasized.
