According to ТСН: Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiichuk, commander of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces, shared information about the situation in the Pokrovsk direction, for which his corps is responsible.

Situation at the War

The military continues to hold the defense in Pokrovsk and the adjacent agglomeration, he noted in an interview.

“The situation is very difficult. A large grouping of the enemy is concentrated in the area from Kotlyno to Dobropillia. The main efforts of the opponent are directed at storming Pokrovsk — Myrnohrad,” the general reported.

He clarified that firefights are ongoing in Pokrovsk.

“In the city, shooting duels are taking place. The conditional line of demarcation runs along the railway, dividing the city into north and south,” Lasiichuk explained.

According to him, the enemy is trying to take advantage of the weather conditions to advance deeper into the city.

“The enemy, taking advantage of the weather conditions, is trying to infiltrate the southern part of the city. We are preventing attempts by small enemy groups to move north,” he said.

The pressure is also increasing on neighboring Myrnohrad.

“The enemy is trying to cut logistics between Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad and to enter the city. We are blocking these attempts by destroying equipment and personnel,” the general emphasized.

Support for Frontline Positions

Lasiichuk assured that the situation remains under control.

“I want to emphasize: there is no encirclement of our troops. Airborne brigades are holding critical frontlines for organizing a coordinated maneuver in case of a worsening situation,” he summarized.

It was previously reported that the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Hnatov, noted that the Russians are concentrating all available reserves on the Pokrovsk direction.

Meanwhile, the Russian occupation army continues to pressure Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region and is trying to cut off the land connection between this city and Pokrovsk. The situation in the region remains tense, and Ukrainian forces are doing everything possible to hold back the enemy and ensure the safety of the civilian population.
