Two earthquakes occurred in a neighboring country to Ukraine in one day.
Earthquakes in Romania
On Sunday, November 24, two earthquakes occurred in Romania. According to the National Institute for Earth Physics of Romania, the first earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 occurred at 07:16. The shocks were felt at a depth of 128 km. The second earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 was recorded at 08:43 at a depth of 64.5 km. Fortunately, there are no reports of casualties or damage resulting from these events.
It is worth noting that the Vrancea zone is an active seismic zone located at the junction of the Carpathians.
It should also be remembered that on November 9, an earthquake also occurred in Poltava region, and on October 8, 2024, near Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. There are no details regarding these events.
Earlier, on September 1, the Main Center for Special Control recorded an earthquake in the eastern part of the Black Sea, 20 km southeast of the coast of Crimea at a depth of 6 km. In this case, the earthquake posed no threat to the population of Ukraine.
