In Zaporizhzhia, the UOC MP cathedral was destroyed as a result of a rocket strike.


In Zaporizhzhia, there was an attack by Russian troops, which led to the damage of the St. Andrew's Cathedral of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate. This was reported by the local publication 'RIA Pivden'.
According to the rector of the church, the explosion occurred early in the morning on January 18. There was a duty officer and a female parishioner in the church, but neither was harmed.
The St. Andrew's Cathedral suffered serious damage from the shelling by Russia. The ceiling of the church completely collapsed, but the roof remained intact. However, being in the church has become dangerous. The church decoration and icons were also damaged, and the cathedral sustained external damage.
On January 18, Russian troops launched a rocket strike on Zaporizhzhia. The missile hit an enterprise, causing significant destruction from the explosion.
As a result of the hostile attack, the administrative building of the industrial facility was damaged, as well as residential buildings and private transport. According to the head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA, there are currently 10 injured.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the attacks of Russian occupiers on Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia and showed a video of the aftermath of the hostile attack. He emphasized that everyone who helps Russia in this war must be pressured just as hard as these strikes.
