The Armed Forces of Ukraine launch a comprehensive support service for military personnel.
A support service for military personnel and their families has been established
The Ministry of Defense reported that the support service for military personnel and their families was launched in accordance with order No. 59 dated January 29, 2025. This order was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine after undergoing legal expertise.
The support services will operate within the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the State Special Transport Service. The civil-military cooperation units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will perform the functions of these services. They will provide consultations and assistance to military personnel and their families on legal, social, and medical issues.
“Our defenders must know that they and their families will not be left alone in difficult moments. We are creating a support system that will help in any situation - filing a claim, resolving issues related to receiving payments, advising on rehabilitation opportunities after injury, providing legal advice and psychological assistance,” noted the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.
The first groups of specialists have completed training as part of the preparation for the launch of support services. They acquired skills in providing legal and psychological assistance, organizing medical support for the wounded, social support for military personnel and their families, as well as interaction with families of the deceased, missing persons, and prisoners. The training was conducted in collaboration with volunteer organizations and civilian experts.
The support services will cover about two dozen areas of support, which will contribute to strengthening the social protection of servicemen and their families.
