Darren Till knocked out Luke Rockhold: former UFC stars ended their feud in Manchester

According to The Sun: Darren Till resolved his conflict with Luke Rockhold by knocking him out and then having a beer together.

The two former UFC stars met in Manchester at Misfits 22, following an emotional exchange of words before the bout.

Darren Till shared a beer with Luke Rockhold after a brutal knockout.

Although they appeared to be bitter rivals before the fight, something completely different happened in the ring.

Till, 32, sent 40-year-old Rockhold to the canvas twice in three rounds, with the final blow leaving the American wobbling.

There were worrying moments at AO Arena when the battered Rockhold remained slumped in the corner of the ring.

He needed oxygen, and when he finally got to his feet, he did so very cautiously – Till ended his bad blood with Rockhold.

He said: “I feel fantastic, but first and foremost, I have to show that I’m a real fighter.”
“Throughout all the controversies, I have been a fan of Luke since childhood; I grew up watching him in Strikeforce and the UFC.”
“He is a phenomenon, and regardless of what I said, you think in the locker room: ‘This is the guy I am really fighting.’”
“So I would have to give Luke all the credit. I know we had fierce disputes, but all respect to him and his team.”

Till now stands at 3-0 in the ring after previous victories over MMA duo Anthony Taylor and Darren Stewart.

Now he wants to bring British boxing legend Carl Froch, 48, out of his 11-year retirement.

Froch was ringside to witness the knockout, and Till jumped out of the ring to approach the former super middleweight world champion.

He shouted: “Where the hell are you, Carl Froch, you little s***. Get in this f***ing ring.

“You have so much to say on your little YouTube channel with 10,000 viewers, get in this ring, you s***.

“He ran away! Considering he’s already 50, I might not call him out.”

This event was marked not only by the fight but also by the rebuilding of friendly relations between two misunderstood fighters. Till showed after his victory that even in the harsh world of fighting, there’s a moment for mutual respect. The battle in the ring and their later meeting at the bar show that sport unites even those who were once at odds. And despite all the verbal exchanges, they showed that sport can be not just a competition, but also a reason for friendship.
