Marta Kostyuk also won her match against Katarzyna Kawa with a score of 6:1, 6:2.
The next match will take place between Lyudmyla and Nadiia Kichenok and Martina Kubka and Maja Chwalińska, but the result of the game will not affect the overall outcome.
The tournament is taking place in Radom on a closed clay court. The Ukrainian team will also compete against the Swiss team.
The Ukrainian team includes Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Katarina Zavatska, Lyudmyla Kichenok and Nadiia Kichenok.
Previously, Poland defeated Switzerland with a score of 3:0. Iga Świątek will not participate in the Billie Jean King Cup matches.
