Ukraine and Panama Sign 2026–2029 Roadmap to Deepen Bilateral Ties.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Visits Panama
According to UATV: On March 13, 2023, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha traveled to Panama at the invitation of his Panamanian counterpart, Javier Eduardo Martínez-Acha Vásquez. The high-level meeting marked a significant step forward in strengthening diplomatic and cooperative links between the two nations.
Key Outcomes of the Talks
During the discussions, the ministers finalized a roadmap for Ukraine–Panama relations spanning 2026 to 2029. This strategic document outlines priority areas for collaboration and sets a clear course for the coming years. In addition, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Panama, designed to boost academic cooperation and facilitate knowledge exchange between the two countries.
Sybiha’s visit underscores Ukraine’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships and opens up fresh avenues for engagement with Latin American nations.
This trip reflects Ukraine’s drive to broaden its diplomatic footprint in a region that has traditionally received less attention from Ukrainian foreign policy.
The cooperation agreement is expected to not only foster economic growth but also enhance Ukraine’s global image, particularly in Latin America—an advantage amid today’s worldwide challenges.
