Ukraine's Growing Role in Global Security

According to Novyny.live: Speaking at the Black Sea Security Forum, journalist Simon Shuster noted that Ukraine's wartime experience is reshaping how Western analysts approach security. Once the conflict ends, he argued, Ukraine will emerge as a major supplier of defense expertise and technology. European nations are increasingly looking to partner with Ukraine to strengthen their own security, seeing its battlefield lessons as critical for building new defense strategies.

Beyond sharing knowledge, Ukraine also plans to introduce new defense products to international markets. Shuster emphasized that

“after the war, Ukraine will become an increasingly effective exporter not only of goods but also of know-how, because Ukraine understands how to build a defense system.”
This points to Ukraine's rising influence in the global defense sector.

NATO Collaboration and Defense Modernization

As part of cooperation with NATO countries, joint ventures are being planned. These will allow Ukraine to integrate its technologies and expertise into Western defense frameworks. It has also been announced that by the end of 2026, Ukraine aims to replace one-third of its infantry with drones and ground robots—a clear signal of its intent to modernize military infrastructure and adopt cutting-edge combat technologies.

Shuster highlighted the importance of security in defense manufacturing, stating:

“Opening your factories in Poland or the Czech Republic, where you don't have to worry every night that a ballistic missile will hit that drone production plant.”
His remarks underscore Western anxieties about investing in military industries amid ongoing instability.

In summary, Ukraine's experience and technological advances position it to become a key player in the international defense market, with significant implications for European security. Integrating Ukraine into European defense strategies and deepening ties with NATO will not only bolster regional safety but also unlock new avenues for economic growth and innovation in the defense sector.
