Strengthening Ties: Key Reconstruction Conference in Gdańsk Marks New Chapter for Ukraine and Poland.
Ukraine Recovery Conference Set for Gdańsk
According to Espreso.tv: Mykola Kniazhytskyi, a member of Ukraine's parliament from the European Solidarity faction, has underscored the critical need for his country's engagement in global forums, particularly the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference scheduled for June 25-26, 2026, in Gdańsk. This event will serve as an international hub for coordinating post-war reconstruction efforts. Organizers anticipate roughly 5,000 attendees, including heads of state, government officials, representatives from international financial bodies, and business leaders.
Deepening Ukraine-Poland Cooperation
Kniazhytskyi, who co-chairs the parliamentary group for interparliamentary relations with Poland, highlighted the necessity of constructive dialogue between the two nations. He stated that
“the desire to participate in rebuilding Ukraine together with other countries is evident.”
He further noted that
“the realization that Russia aims to destroy not only Ukraine but also Poland, and that Ukraine is currently helping Poland,”underscores the importance of bilateral cooperation.
Kniazhytskyi expressed a hope that “we Ukrainians would like to speak with one voice alongside the Poles within the European Union.” It is worth noting that previous Ukraine Recovery Conferences have taken place in Lugano, London, Berlin, and Rome, reflecting sustained international interest in the country's post-war revival. Participation in such gatherings is vital for aligning global efforts and securing the necessary resources for Ukraine's restoration.
The Gdańsk conference represents a pivotal milestone in Ukraine's reconstruction journey and signals a renewed push for international collaboration. By bringing together a wide array of participants—from state leaders to corporate executives—the event could significantly influence the funding and execution of recovery projects. Cooperation with neighboring Poland is especially crucial, as it reinforces regional unity in the face of external threats. A successful conference could bolster Ukraine's standing on the world stage and accelerate its integration into European frameworks.
