Ukraine in the OSCE: Partner permission is needed to use long-range weapons on RF territory.
Acting Permanent Representative of Ukraine to International Organizations in Vienna Victoria Kuvshynnykova emphasized that a decision by Western partners is needed to allow the use of long-range weapons on RF territory to stop Russian terror against the civilian population of Ukraine.
"Vladimir Putin is ready to continue terrorizing Ukraine, trying to turn it into territory unsuitable for life. As long as he has the resources for this. Today (August 26th - ed.) is no exception. Early in the morning, Russia carried out another massive attack using missiles and drones. This was one of the largest attacks - a combined strike involving more than a hundred missiles of various types and about a hundred 'Shaheds'," noted Kuvshynnykova in her speech.
According to the diplomat, 15 regions of Ukraine were hit, and there are casualties among civilians.
Kuvshynnykova noted that the main target of the attacks was critical infrastructure that provides electricity, heat, and basic services to the population. Since the beginning of Russia's invasion, about 9,600 missiles and 14,000 drones have been used.
In addition to missiles and drones, about 45,000 artillery shells fall on Ukraine daily, and 3200-3500 guided air bombs are dropped on the civilian population and infrastructure monthly.
"To stop the Russian army, end terror against the civilian population, and save lives, it is necessary to make a decision to use long-range means against military targets on RF territory, including places where Russian troops and equipment are concentrated, military bases, airfields, logistics facilities, and other military objects," Kuvshynnykova emphasized.
