Ukraine Restores Irrigation on 1 Million Hectares: How This Will Change the Agricultural Sector.
The Restoration of Irrigation in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Ukraine is actively working on restoring the irrigation system over an area of more than 1 million hectares. This is an important step for the development of the agricultural sector in the context of climate change and the country's recovery after the war.
Prioritizing Reclamation
Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, emphasized that reforming reclamation is one of the main tasks of the Ministry of Economy. He said this during a meeting with agricultural producers.
OVK 'Strong Water' Projects
OVK 'Strong Water' successfully restored a pumping station, installed irrigation systems, and began implementing a project for the creation of a solar power station. This has allowed for the restoration of irrigation on an area of 1127 hectares. Such initiatives not only optimize resource use but also contribute to the development of agriculture.
International Support
Thanks to the support of international partners, Ukraine is actively modernizing its reclamation networks with technical assistance from the U.S. government. This opens up new opportunities for agribusiness companies and contributes to the development of the agricultural machinery market.
The restoration of the irrigation system in Ukraine is of strategic importance not only for the agricultural sector but also for the sustainable development of the economy as a whole. Successful projects implemented with the help of international assistance and internal initiatives highlight the importance of effective natural resource use in transitioning to new technologies and reducing risks associated with climate change.
