Ukraine lost positions in the ranking of the world's most powerful armies.
Ukraine ranks 18th among the world's most powerful armies, despite Russian aggression. It retains its positions, but is already 3 places lower than last year.
This information is provided by the updated Global Firepower ranking for 2024.
This ranking assesses the military power of countries based on more than 60 different parameters, such as the size of the armed forces and reserves, army funding, equipment quality, geographical conditions, availability of natural resources, and more.
Among Ukraine's strengths are a significant number of military personnel, a large mobilization reserve, good land equipment, developed aviation systems, and air defense capabilities. However, weak points are the absence of a navy, short borders, and the lack of its own oil reserves.
Ukraine shows resilience, maintaining high positions in the ranking despite the difficult conditions of war. The country surpasses such states as Poland, Taiwan, and North Korea, indicating significant military potential and the effectiveness of its armed forces in the face of Russian aggression.
The most important factors influencing leadership include high military spending, a large number of military personnel and reservists, the presence of modern military equipment, a powerful navy, rich natural resources, and, in some cases, nuclear weapons.
