According to UATV: Ukrainian athletes delivered outstanding performances at the 14th Winter Paralympic Games, held in Italy from March 6 to 15, earning six medals in one day—four silver and two bronze. This brings Ukraine’s total medal count at the event to 16, comprising three gold, six silver, and seven bronze awards. These Games showcase elite adaptive sports on a global stage, highlighting the remarkable skill and determination of athletes with disabilities.
Ukraine’s Medalists
Among the honorees, Taras Rad secured a silver medal in the para-biathlon sitting category. Additional silver medals were awarded to:
- Hryhorii Vovchynskyi
- Iryna Bui
Both competed in the standing classification. Oleksandra Kononova claimed bronze in the para-biathlon standing event, while Oleksandr Kazyk, guided by Serhii Kucheriavyi, earned silver in the vision impairment category. Another bronze in this category went to Anatolii Kovalevskyi, with his guide Oleksandr Mukshyn.
