Ukrainians were named 'dangerous' fruits that are better not to buy in spring.
The RBK-Ukraine website published a list of the worst fruits sold in supermarkets during spring.
During spring, attractive fruits appear in stores, but not all of them are healthy. Many early fruits may contain excessive amounts of nitrates, have an indistinct taste, or may be harmful to the body.
Strawberries
It is known that strawberries are one of the most problematic fruits to buy in spring. They are often grown using significant amounts of fertilizers and growth stimulants, leading to excessive nitrates and inconsistent taste.
Watermelons
Although watermelons are usually considered summer fruits, they can also be a problem in spring. To accelerate ripening, producers use chemicals that can negatively affect human health.
Peaches and apricots
Typically, peaches and apricots that can be purchased in spring are harvested when they are still unripe and are treated with preservatives to maintain their appearance. This can affect their taste and nutrient content.
Grapes
Early varieties of grapes, which are often sold in spring, contain pesticide residues and have a sour taste.
Experts recommend choosing truly seasonal fruits such as apples, pears, oranges, grapefruits, and lemons. They contain fewer chemicals and more vitamins and beneficial components. When choosing fruits, it is essential to pay attention to their appearance and smell, and before consumption, wash them thoroughly to avoid unwanted substances in the body.
Previously, experts also predicted a decrease in sunflower oil prices in 2025.
