Ukrainians clarified whether they need to go to the CCC in person when processing a deferment.
Lawyer Volodymyr Romanchuk refuted the statement of the representative of the Poltava CCC and SP Roman Ystomin regarding the necessity of personal presence to obtain a deferment from mobilization.
He said this in a comment to the DT.UA publication.
According to Romanchuk, Resolution No. 560, which Ystomin referred to, does not require mandatory personal presence at the military enlistment office.
"The norm provides for the submission of an application, without any requirements for submission through attendance at the CCC and SP," explained the lawyer.
He noted that according to paragraphs 58-60 of the resolution, conscripts can submit an application for deferment by providing supporting documents. Moreover, the deferment can be processed through the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Reservists, and those Obliged to Military Service based on data from other state registers.
Romanchuk emphasized that the commission has the right to request additional information from state authorities, and this process does not require the applicant's personal presence at the CCC.
"The norms of Resolution No. 560 in no way require personal arrival at the premises of the CCC and SP and do not prohibit the sending of appropriate applications by mail," said the lawyer, adding that this position has been repeatedly confirmed by Ukrainian courts.
Romanchuk also noted that students, postgraduates, and doctoral students who are abroad can update data through the register or send documents by mail without personal presence. However, the lawyer warned that submission of applications through relatives, lawyers, or without the applicant's personal signature is not provided by law, and such appeals will be rejected.
It was previously reported that three categories of Ukrainians will be able to receive deferment from mobilization in Reserve+.
