Ukrainian karateka Talibov wins gold at the World Games: how it happened.
Ukrainian karateka Rizvan Talibov became the champion of the World Games 2025. He won in the weight category over 84 kg, claiming his first gold medal at these competitions. The Ukrainian was one of the main contenders for victory, winning the semifinal with a score of 4:0 and advancing to the final, where he again won – this time against Croatian Angelo Kvesic, the reigning champion.
This victory allowed Ukraine to rise to sixth place in the overall medal standings of the World Games 2025. Rizvan Talibov is a well-known Ukrainian karateka competing in the over 84 kg category, with many prize places in international competitions. His aggressive and tactical fighting style helped him achieve this important gold, which has become one of the brightest achievements of Ukrainian karate in recent years.
