The World Games are ongoing in Chengdu, China. On August 16, the Ukrainian powerlifting team brought home five medals.
However, they have not yet won any gold medals, according to the Novyny.LIVE portal.
Ukrainian athletes stood on five podiums in powerlifting. In the women's lightweight category, Tetiana Bila won silver by lifting 207.5 kg in the squat, 130 kg in the bench press, and 175 kg in the deadlift, with a total of 512.5 kg and 107.77 points according to the IPF formula.
Anastasia Derev'yanko supplemented the success with a bronze medal, also totaling 512.5 kg (205 kg, 127.5 kg, 180 kg), earning 105.45 points.
In the middleweight category, Larysa Solov'yova secured silver with results of 235 kg in the squat, 170 kg in the bench press, and 217.5 kg in the deadlift, totaling 622.5 kg and 112.72 points, marking her sixth medal at the World Games.
Equally impressive was the performance of the men in the middleweight category. Vitalii Kolomiiets took second place, lifting 360 kg in the squat, 255 kg in the bench press, and 310 kg in the deadlift, totaling 925 kg.
Mykola Barannik secured bronze with results of 345 kg in the squat, 260 kg in the bench press, and 302.5 kg in the deadlift, totaling 907.5 kg.
