Ukrainian Actress Joins the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian actress Rita Burkovska announced that she has joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The artist shared this news on her Instagram. According to her, since the beginning of the full-scale war, she worked in the media. However, Burkovska believes that it is Time to take on greater responsibility. Thus, she went to defend Ukraine on the battlefield and has already taken the oath.

«I took the oath. So, I joined the AFU. You probably know that I am an actress. For the last 2.5 years, I worked with the media. We have done many useful things and important stories. I learned a lot from the best journalists. These skills will not disappear. But it is time to take greater responsibility on myself, and I do it with joy», – shared Burkovska.

The actress is convinced that she made the right decision. Burkovska also added that, of course, she would like to act in movies, relax, and do her own things, but she is sure that she will still have time to do all this after the war, as now it is not the right time.

«I don't know what my decision will bring me, but I definitely know that in this historical time – this is the only right decision, and I am glad that I finally made it and have the honor to serve among the best. I also really want to act in movies, hang out, do my own things, but now it is not very timely. I am sure that there will still be movies in my life and people who are close to me in values, and stories that will touch me and others as well», – added the artist.

The actress gained popularity after playing the lead role in the film about the Russian-Ukrainian war «Butterfly Vision». The film tells the story of an aerial reconnaissance officer with the call sign «Butterfly». In 2023, in the Netherlands, Burkovska won the Septimius Awards in the category «Best European Actress» for this role.

Earlier, Ukrainian writer, translator, and founder of the YouTube channel «Your Underground Humanities» Ostap Ukrayinets mobilized to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Let's recall, Ukrainian musician Serhiy Silakov, better known by the pseudonym thekomakoma, joined the ranks of the Ukrainian army. Silakov posted a video in which he appeared in military uniform and asked supporters to donate to the needs of his battalion.
