Ukraine’s FP-9 Missile Plans

According to UATV: Ukraine intends to target Moscow with FP-9 ballistic missiles during the summer or early fall of 2023. Denis Shtylerman, chief designer at Fire Point, confirmed the feasibility of such an attack, stating the FP-9 has the range to reach the Russian capital. This development marks a significant step in Ukraine’s domestic missile program, aiming to enhance its long-range strike capabilities.

The company plans to produce roughly ten test versions of the FP-9. Engine testing for the missile is scheduled for October 2023. Shtylerman explained:

'For the FP-9 missile, which can reach Moscow, we have everything except the engine. We will test the engine this month, and we expect to begin test flights soon. Once trials confirm everything functions properly, the next launch should be directed at Moscow. The first strike could happen in summer or, at the latest, early fall.' Potential Implications

If these plans come to fruition, they could profoundly alter Ukraine’s military strategy and the broader regional dynamics. Successful missile testing might trigger new phases of escalation in the conflict and reshape Ukraine-Russia relations. Such actions are likely to elicit varied responses from the international community, a factor that remains crucial in the current political landscape.

Observers note that any strike on Moscow would represent a dramatic shift in the war’s trajectory, potentially prompting heightened scrutiny and reactions from global powers.
