Confirmed Executions of Ukrainian Prisoners of War

According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine’s Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, has reported that by the end of 2025, at least 337 Ukrainian prisoners of war had been executed by Russian troops. He emphasized that the actual death toll is likely higher, as not all incidents could be verified.

“I am fully aware the number is larger, since we were unable to verify 100% of these executions,” Lubinets stated.

War Crimes and International Reckoning

Currently, over 270,000 criminal cases have been opened concerning war crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine. Lubinets expressed confidence that specific Russian military personnel will eventually face trial, though he cautioned that the process could take years or even decades.

“We need to do what was done after World War II,” Lubinets said.

The International Criminal Court has also issued arrest warrants for Russia’s president and its commissioner for children’s rights, linked to the deportation of Ukrainian children. These developments underscore the severity of the situation and the systematic human rights abuses occurring during the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine.

These statements highlight the gravity of human rights violations in Ukraine amid the prolonged war.
