The Ukrainian football player died defending Ukraine
Ukrainian football player Mykyta Kalin, 23 years old, died while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Zelenyi Hai in the Izyum district of Kharkiv region. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in July 2024. Kalin previously played for the 'Kolos' team from Kovalivka in the Youth Football League, and also played for the clubs 'Skif', MFC 'Brovari', 'Bohdanivka', and 'Favorit'. He was a champion of the Kyiv region in khorting.
Tragedy involving 16-year-old player from the 'Mykolaiv' football club
Another tragedy struck the football world when 16-year-old player from the 'Mykolaiv' football club, Ivan Shkvyryka, died from carbon monoxide poisoning. He was a winner of the Youth Football League of Lviv region and had recently joined the youth team of 'Mykolaiv'.
Losses among students
On February 9, 2025, during a combat mission in Donetsk region, Artem Drobot, a former student of NaUKMA, founder of the student organization 'Ukrainian Student', was killed. Drobot was a nationalist and excelled in studies and had an active civic position. He entered the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy for the major 'Ecology' and joined the activities of the organization 'Ukrainian Student' and the All-Ukrainian Union 'Svoboda'.
