Ukrzaliznytsia and PKP Intercity may launch passenger service Rava-Ruska - Warsaw.
Ukrzaliznytsia is negotiating the launch of passenger service between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska with Polish trains
JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" is negotiating with the Polish operator PKP Intercity regarding the launch of trains between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska. The new route may be launched from December 15. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
"Negotiations between UZ and PKP IC on the launch of the train in the Warsaw - Rava-Ruska service are ongoing. This issue was discussed at all international meetings with the participation of companies," the press service of UZ noted.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the agreement with the Polish company SKPL, which provides rolling stock on the Rava-Ruska - Warsaw route, is valid until 2024.
"According to PKP IC, the train service Warsaw - Rava-Ruska can be launched with PKP rolling stock no earlier than December 15, 2024. PKP IC is working on the issue of allocating rolling stock. Also, the parties are considering the appointment of a test trip in the Warsaw - Rava-Ruska service," the press service of UZ reported.
The launch of the route involves transporting passengers in a special train consisting of 4 carriages and having seating for 1st and 2nd class. The transport of passengers to the train is provided by the Kolomyia - Rava-Ruska train (DPC) (it transports customers to the SKPL - IF-U train).
"The launch of the route is an opportunity to change the rolling stock to a more comfortable one. The change of rolling stock and train schedule will lead to an increase in train occupancy," noted Ukrzaliznytsia.
Passenger transportation in international service will be carried out by the Polish operator PKP IC. Each railway participating in the organization of train movements sets tariffs on its territory. The approximate cost of travel can be determined after the announcement by the PKP IC side of the route and the cost for the segment of the trip through Polish territory.
It is noted that the demand for railway service between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska is consistently high, and travel documents for train No. 67/68 Kyiv - Warsaw are sold on the first day of sales.
Recall that PKP IC previously operated in Ukraine, in particular, a train was launched on the Wrocław - Lviv route.
