Ukrainian Railways Adjusts Schedules Due to Shelling: Delays Reported for February 15.
Ukrainian Railways Announces Schedule Changes
According to Novyny.live: On February 15, 2023, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) announced adjustments to its train schedules in response to Russian strikes. These ongoing attacks have disrupted rail services across the country, leading to delays and cancellations in several regions due to security concerns. This is part of the widespread impact on civilian infrastructure since the full-scale invasion began.
In the Sumy region, local trains are operating with restrictions, particularly to and from Konotop. In the Chernihiv region, possible delays are expected on the Slavutych and Nizhyn routes due to drone attacks, which are also affecting the overall network schedule. Movement has been restored on a damaged section near Lozova, but services towards Kramatorsk remain problematic.
On the Izium route, regional express trains are running on schedule, indicating relative stability in that area. Additionally, several trains will continue to operate to and from Dnipro, including:
- No. 86/85 Lviv — Zaporizhzhia — Lviv
- No. 5/6 Yasinya — Zaporizhzhia
- No. 39/40 Solotvyno — Zaporizhzhia — Solotvyno
- No. 731/732 Kyiv — Zaporizhzhia — Kyiv
- No. 128/127 Lviv — Zaporizhzhia — Lviv
Meanwhile, long-distance services between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia will be adjusted based on the evolving security situation.
The security situation in Sumy and Chernihiv regions is currently under control but requires vigilance from passengers. The situation in Kharkiv Oblast also requires monitoring, as train movements may be subject to change. Zaporizhzhia is under heightened control, underscoring the need for strict adherence to safety measures.
Given the unstable conditions, it is crucial for passengers to stay informed about schedule changes and follow Ukrzaliznytsia's recommendations for safe travel.
These schedule modifications reflect the current, complex security situation in Ukraine, shaped by ongoing military actions. Ukrzaliznytsia continues to adapt its services to ensure the highest possible level of safety for its passengers.
