The International Association of Ultra-marathoners did not recognize the world record of Russian Ivan Zaborovsky
Ultra-marathoner Ivan Zaborovsky was stripped of his world record for finishing with the help of the Russian flag. This decision was made by the International Association of Ultra-marathoners. Previously, he won the competition 'Six Days of France', breaking the record in six-day running.
In its statement, the IAU noted that Russians and Belarusians may participate in competitions under neutral status, but results and records will not be recognized if national flags are displayed. A similar situation arose with speed skater Ksenia Korzhova, who was recognized as a neutral athlete by the International Skating Union.
It is noted that the athlete liked posts supporting the war and supported the figure of dictator Putin. Additionally, participants in the Olympic Games from Russia have been sanctioned for supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine.
