Usyk spoke about plans to return to football.
Oleksandr Usyk, as the absolute world champion in heavyweight boxing, won against Daniel Dubois and is now planning a break. During it, he might visit the Zhytomyr club 'Polissya'.
During a meeting with the military, Usyk expressed his desire to play for the football club 'Polissya'. The video of the event was published by the YouTube channel PravdaTUT Lviv.
Usyk responded to the question of whether he would be seen in the 'Polissya' lineup, saying that not only will he be seen, but he will also score a goal against 'Dynamo' Kyiv. UAF head Andriy Shevchenko noted that for this, Usyk needs to be registered as a football player. Usyk joked that thanks to connections in the Football Federation of Ukraine, this is possible.
'I think they will register me. Zhora Bouschan moved to another club because he said: 'Old man, I don't want you to score against me,' Usyk joked.
Oleksandr emphasized that football is not his main sport, but he gladly supports 'Polissya' and its president Hennadiy Butkevych, with whom he has collaborated for many years. He acknowledged that he helps the club, but lacks the skill for professional play.
'Just because I can play doesn't mean I should play for a professional team. But to jump in, to fight — why not? I can take a shot from a free kick and score by chance. And that's it,' Usyk added.
In 2022, Usyk already stepped onto the field for 'Polissya' in a friendly tournament Intercup.
Recall that it was previously reported where Usyk's children are and what they are up to.
Summary
Oleksandr Usyk expressed his desire to play for the football club 'Polissya' during his break after winning a boxing match. Although football is not his main sport, he is ready to support the club and test his skills on the football field.
